FCA Endurance’s second ministry objective is to unite Christian endurance athletes from around the world as a way of accomplishing our first ministry objective, to minister to the endurance sports world. While the Lord has done an amazing work in uniting individual athletes under our Team umbrella this past year, a major step toward unity has taken place as two other ministries, Trinity Triathletes (TT) and Iron Prayer (IP), have merged with FCA Endurance.
Trinity Triathletes, a ministry based out of California, was started by Terry and Betsy Davis of Tri California. Their heart has been to get Christian triathletes to focus on Christ first and to use all of their blessings, gifts, and abilities for Christ’s purposes, being bold for Christ in all that they do. One of TT’s objectives was to build a Christian triathlete database that could be used to connect athletes across the country to cooperate in ministry, organize event home stays, etc. Iron Prayer is a ministry also based out of California, tied closely to TT, that has been responsible for helping oversee and organize Iron Prayer events across the country. FCA Endurance has been blessed to help with Iron Prayer events during the past 2 years at Arizona, Lake Placid, Coeur d’Alene, California 70.3, and the recent World Championships.
Our ministry merger will make all involved ministries more united, efficient and effective. Because both ministries ultimately have the same goal and heart, it only makes sense that we do more than cooperate as separate entities. By combining our resources, eliminating overlap, and tying ourselves together in heart, prayer, and name, we are helping complete each other in our quest to unite Christian endurance ministry and impact the endurance world for Christ.
As the merger continues to work itself out, the TT database will be rolled into the FCA Endurance database, eliminating duplicity. As such, we are asking everyone on the TT database who is not already in the FCA-E database to sign up for the FCA-E database by clicking here. Iron Prayer will continue to function as it has for the past number of years, being run by the FCA-E Iron Prayer coordinators Troy and Robin Soares. The main notable difference will be the IP ministry page will now be under the FCA-E site.
Regarding the merger, Troy Soares said, “The goal has always been to be a light, a Christ-like example, and to see more and more triathletes praying and worshipping together. We've also seen this light and desire from FCA Endurance so joining forces greatly expands this goal. Our prayers have been affirmed; we feel God is at the forefront of this merger so there is no stopping His great plans for more prayer and fellowship!”
As part of our original vision for FCA Endurance, athletes (and their ministries) would all come together in amazing Christian unity to accomplish a common goal, impacting our world for Christ. This merger is something I had prayed about for some time, and I knew it was the Lord’s will when it was affirmed by Terry, Troy, and Robin. We will continue to pray about how we can all come together in strength and power. Thank God for His guidance in bringing us together. We are so excited to see how He will use us in 2007!
